Why retell the story of Job?

Two thousand years ago, manuscripts were not plentiful and in some areas, literacy was low.
Because of these two things, religious teachers would read the "original" and explain it to groups of people in their own words as they read it.
When I tell the story, this is the tradition I am following. I am sincerely trying to not deviate from what the text is all about.
Otherwise, this would be revisionism (and detestable to me).

I hope that by making the story straight-forward and putting it in everyday English, it will help you to better understand it. Hearing it more the way the people did thousands of years ago may help bring a new perspective for you to investigate.

Of course, since this is the 20th Century, you also have the benefit of numerous translations from the original manuscripts at your fingertips!

I hope you take advantage of them to read the real thing and to check up on me!

So have fun with it! And feel free to send me some feedback! Is there a part where you think I may have missed the point?
Is there a part that helped you reevaluate the text and find more in it?
Did this paraphrase help encourage you in any way?

E-mail me for a no obligation, absolutely free copy of the Bible!

Thanks for coming by! May God bless you with peace, love, grace, and all good things in Christ Jesus!----Mark "the optimist"
