Felix Manz baptized a woman, upon her request, in this village north of Zurich. This action proved to be fateful, as it was used as evidence against him at his trial in early 1527. After a couple months of "underground" work in the region, Manz returned to the area of Gruningen, south-east of Zurich. [Moore, Portraits, p.61]
