Grüningen

- Conrad Grebel was probably born this year in the Castle of Grüningen, about 10 miles south-east of Zurich. His father, Jacob Grebel, was stationed here while serving as bailiff of the territory. (If Conrad was not born in Grüningen then his birth occurred in Zurich, the Grebel family's hometown.) Conrad undoubtedly spent his early childhood in Grüningen, however.

- April 1525
- The local peasants sacked 3 religious establishments, including the monastery at nearby Ruti.
- June 1525
- Conrad Grebel arrived in Grüningen from Zurich late in the month. Over the next 4 months he engaged in a vigorous door-to-door witnessing and preaching campaign. Early October found him in nearby Betzholtz.
- 8 October 1525
- Magistrate George Berger arrived in Grüningen with George Blaurock & Conrad Grebel and threw them into the prison chamber of Grüningen Castle. (This was the same castle in which Conrad had spent his childhood).

- Felix Manz was captured and put into prison with fellow Anabaptists Conrad Grebel & George Blaurock. A few weeks later, all three were taken to Zurich for trial.
1526
- May 1526
- Felix Manz returned to Grüningen from his preaching and baptizing activities in the region north of Zurich. Before long he made his way to Basel.
- 3 December 1526
- Felix Manz & George Blaurock were captured by magistrate George Berger in a forest near Grüningen.
