BEYOND TECHNOLOGICAL
EVOLUTION

MEDITATING...
During their holidays, many people take the
opportunity to meditate a little about whether or not they have been acting
according to their highest interests, and about a way of obtaining more
material and spiritual success.
Let’s take a brief look at some questions
that one might ask.
It is relevant to analyse our capacity to
maintain positive thought both for our own profit and for those around
us.
It is important to consider the development
of our will and whether or not it has been applied in a positive way.
We have to analyse if we have been keeping
our emotional balance, in order to avoid each and every uncontrolled reaction
(verbal, attitudinal and mental).
We have to pay attention to the fulfilment
of our family and professional duties and, as a complement, to the kind
of language we use, the kind of food we eat, the way we spend our free
time and even the way we manage our sleeping time.
It is important to ponder over how much we
trust ourselves and how often we assume responsibilities.
It is also good to verify whether or not we
have the habit of making decisions only after duly thinking about them
and reaching an inner peace.
We shouldn’t forget to analyse our capacity
to maintain our good humour, specially in difficult moments.
It seems beneficial to check if we have been
respecting others, our tolerance level and the way we express our discordance,
either by words or attitudes.
It is also useful to see how often we behave
towards others in a way we wouldn’t like them to behave towards us, and
how often we have been available to help without asking for something in
return.
It is important as well to analyse our capacity
to overcome hostile, calumnious and / or undesirable environments, through
forgetfulness and calm withdrawing.
We could raise a lot of other questions. But,
why don’t we enjoy a thought by Albert Einstein?
“The wise man, convinced of the law of chance
for each event, interprets the future and the past according to the same
rules of necessity and determinism. Morality doesn’t create for him problems
with gods, but with men. His religiosity consists in becoming surprised,
delighted, with the harmony of natural laws; they reveal such a superior
intelligence, that all human thought and talent, can only conclude, in
its presence, something insignificant. This feeling develops the dominant
rule of life, of his courage, since he overcomes the servitude of selfish
desires.”
