Lucero: (dreaming of houses with lovely little gardens......ah, houses are nice....) Lucero: would like to manifest a little windswept cottage with a c breeze and a seagull.... WindSwept: Haha! what lovely imagery, Lucero! When do we move in? c_breeze: Lucero...hmmmm, did you see into my mind?...always trying to manifest a little cottage by an ocean... Lucero: Windswept, bringing the paint brush for the picket fence and some flower seeds for the garden....bricks for the terrace.... Lucero: wicker lounge and chairs for the terrace.... WindSwept: Oh yes, and a little patch of lilac...what's the name of our cottage? Lucero: "By the Sea"? Lucero: "Heart's Desire"? WindSwept: Perfect! Lucero: Oh no, I've got it: "Heart's Ease!" Lucero: Heart's Ease. WindSwept: Can't wait to invite everyone for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hannukah and all pagan holidays!! Lucero: We need to be sure the shingles are fastened tight, and the shutters can latch in case of storm... lilac: Lucero in happier times my home was named Solace *s* Lucero: WindSwept, we will need lots of coal oil and hurricane lamps....well, there's my lanterns.... What have we here? Fence, the rooms are expandable according to the whims of the owner, the dishes, what about the furniture? What motif should it be? Should we go with a Southwestern earthy tone, or should it be a cozy New England flavor, or a modern spacy Pacific look, or an urban artistic way, possibly reminiscent of a place in Chicago? Lucero: Magus, there was a storybook when I was little, showed a high-roofed and many-gabled house that I kind of fancy..... Magus: Lucero: I see. So I can make it almost like the Holodeck. I can make it to anything I choose? Good... Lucero: Oh, and a bay window! We've GOT to have a bay window!!! Several of them! Lucero: Magus, exactly! It will mirror YOUR interior dream! Wallflower: Lucero i used to have some really wonderful pottery from artist all over the southwest...teenage son...dishes...he has cut collection by half! was always sincerely sorry he has never broken anything in anger...neat starseed child Illya: Lucero...a truly lovely place of peace you are creating! Lucero: Yes, long net curtains swaying in the breeze! Magus: Lilac: why not? The living room should be facing the seashore. When I come in, I like to feel relaxed, and hear the ocean waves. The kitchen should have every single type of utensil I need, where I can see it. New England Colonial or possibly, where the pans could be found. The bathroom: elegant, a heatlamp on the ceiling over the shower, the sink should have that ultramodern onyx marble seen in hotels, reminiscent of the plush palaces seen in 1930's New York City. The bedroom should be also elegant where French doors reminiscent of the New Orleans Garden District facing the ocean, and a breeze can blow in on the warmest nights, almost like the Mediterranean, Lucero: Lopan, hello! Perhaps the garden should also accommodate the animals that frequent it. Baths and feeders for the birds, perhaps even something for the squirrels. Elijah: small shallow ponds, interconnected, in the garden, stone benches, a pathway for walking meditations, in the ponds, exotic goldfish, some deer, in the open areas further inland, some bison, elk, alpacas and llamas Magus: Elijah; but of course. May I suggest solar, if cottage gets enough sunlight, wind power is nice, but windmills can get loud and that would interfere with the meditation in the japanese garden Lani: Magus SURE .. log, with stone fireplace in the middle of all the windows overlooking the sea (so you can see the fire and the ocean at the same time? *S* lilac: oh yes...I can sit and watch fish for hours... Magus: vs: many here are artists of some sort. I've done translating, acting, writing, dance, music, and other arts, and I've enjoyed them all pretty much. Architecture is pretty new to me, but since it has the imagination of art, why not? Lucero: Lani, sounds as if we all have versions of the same dream! So much of what others have brought to this vision has resonated "Home" to me! Elijah: whitecloud a solar system, with a heat pump from the dome green house, a rock storage area underground, to store in summer, return in winter whitecloud: Lucero - Dreams are easy to enter when the topic is something that is so relaxing. You have mentioned being near water. I would prefer a tropical space as I love to dive. Lani: mine must be beside or in the middle of the pacific ocean *grin* lilac: Whitecloud *VBS* always good to have the practical things considered...solar is good... and actually I have a friend who has a windmill...when it was first put up the noise was a little distracting but it fades away. Lucero: whitecloud, we can build in the tropics..... whitecloud: Elijah - Ummm.. winter time. I enjoy visiting snow, but this cottage needs to be further North, than my dream home. There are spots in Japan, Oregon, Canada, Washington that I can think would have the proper exposure. Yes a heat pump. Magus: Lani: that was my intention also. Each room I have looked at with a different style of motif. The living room is Western, the bedroom is reminiscent of the Garden District of New Orleans especially with the French doors with the toile curtains. The kitchen is New England, and the bathroom is art deco, reminiscent of 1930's New York City, with the onyx marble tiling. Lucero: Gotta have a few skylights.....in the bathrooms, for sure..... Elijah: heard mentioned a gazebo, the spot would be the high outcropping, cliffs down the beach, the one where the surf pounds on the rock, affords a great view of passing orcas and other whales, the sea lions rest on the rocks below whitecloud: My wife is making candles - Lots of candles - These would be wonderful in the cottage. Lucero: Do we have a ceiling fan anywhere? Or an indoor fireplace? Magus: So we're all agreed that it should overlook the Pacific Ocean? Lucero: I like that location, Eli. Lucero: Magus, it feels like the Pacific, doesn't it? whitecloud: Our dream cottage is going to need about 30 bedrooms for all of to stay and for all the visitors that will be coming. LOL!!
