Subject to the collective responsibility of the Executive, and the specific responsibilities of other Executive members, the Local Party Support Co-ordinator is the primary representative of local parties' interests on the Executive. Under consensual working arrangements, this will mostly be achieved by contributing to the projects of other Executive members, in particular the Campaigns Co-ordinator, and the Elections Co-ordinator.
The Local Party Support Co-ordinator also effectively has overall responsibility for Internal Communications within the Party. In particular:
i) they are directly responsible for Green Link magazine;
ii) they are usually, though not ex officio, the Executive's representative on the Green World editorial board, co-operating closely with External Communications Co-ordinator in this role;
iii) they are responsible for co-ordinating all local party mailings, and individual member mailshots;
iv) they are responsible for co-ordinating training activities within the Party to ensure maximum benefit to the Party as a whole.
The Local Party Support Co-ordinator will work with local parties, through Area and County Party structures where appropriate, to enhance supportive networking, to promote local and Area level activity, and to encourage co-operation and the dissemination of good and effective practice. In doing this, they will work with the campaigns, policy and elections communities to ensure that they are easily accessible to all local parties.
They will have specific responsibility for commissioning new material and literature to meet the expressed needs of local parties, excluding those items that are the responsibility of the Campaigns, Policy and Election Co-ordinators to commission.
The Local Party Support Co-ordinator has the following specific responsibilities individually:
i) authorising loans made from Greenquest "Local" Funds;
ii) supporting existing Young Green and Green student groups, in close co-operation with the Campaigns Co-ordinator who has responsibility for "outreach" work amongst students and young people;
iii) co-operation with Area and local parties to ensure that centrally held membership records are kept up to date, and that enquiries and membership lapses are followed up in the most effective manner possible;
and the following responsibilities jointly with the Finance & Management Co-ordinator:
iv) maintenance of membership and enquirer records, and the production of information based on them;
v) information sent out to enquirers (except those generated by elections or specific campaigns), to schools, and to new members;
vi) letters sent out as renewal reminders, and to lapsed members.
