The FCAT assessment is not a normal standardized test. It contains many questions that require higher order thinking skills. Hence, it is very challenging to prepare for this assessment. A student must both have a clear understanding of the skills required and how to apply those skills to challenging problem solving situations. The test contains several different formats of questions including: multiple choice, gridded-response, short answer, and long answer.
