With the "proper" words we have the power to change the course of events that formulate the Universe as we know it, casting spells that effect every one we come in contact with. Even altering the realities of people that we have never had the fortune (be it good or bad) to meet.
You doubt your own power ? You shouldn't.
Remember
that thursday night, when your best friend was lost in a fog of
despair ?
You, gave
them the the bright ray of sunlight that guided them back.
With the
right words.
Or
saturday night at the party, a group of strangers were laughing
hysterically at a joke. The joke you told to your friend earlier
that evening.
You used
the right words.
Your
strengths can work in very subtle ways. But do
not forget the cliche (slightly paraphrased) "Words, like
Truth and Power, wield a double edged sword"
Wasn't
it sunday evening, crowded "family" restraunt, the
boisterous group at the table not too far from yours, uttering
racial, sexist and sexual epithets just above the
"private" sound level.
"My God ! look at her, in public, with THEM !"
"Why can't THOSE people stay with thier OWN
kind !" "if God wanted them to be together He wouldn't
have made two sexes"
Were you the
ones hurt ? directly ? Or did your child just get a lesson in the
subtlties of intolerance.
Friday evening, the end of a LONG day, long week, long "project". You get home and your 4 year old has the audacitiy to show you the lump of mud in the middle of the living room floor, they tell you it's a dragon that they made for you, but you know better and quickly correct them.
