The Stones, the McIntoshes and Nances

The Stones came out from Illinois and were visiting with the McIntoshes in Los Angles. By arrangement we met them in the mountains near Lebec for a picnic dinner. They changed their plans and we went down in the valley to our ranch and stayed over night, going home next morning via Tehachapi. This took them over another and safer route. When coming up, George Stone stood it as long as he could, then asked Fred Mac to slow up. The Ridge today is a far better road than it was then.
