I submit this Memorial as it is without apology. You will find errors, but it is my first effort on such an undertaking and with my old and tired eyes, often blurred by tears, I am happy that it turned out as well as it did. Had it not been for some excellent assistance I don't know whether or not I could have finished it. It was a labor of love.

Around me, my grandfather always seemed so stern, yet in this photo he has the same smile that I made. I can remember watching Pop sit with his hands behind his back and I realized that I sat the same way. I sat the same way. I smiled the same way. What we pass on from generation to generation is much more lasting that we can ever believe. Thank you, Pop, for passing these pictures and information on to me. It is now time for my eyes to tire and blur with tears. It's time for me to pass on to another generation the joys and sorrows, the failures and triumphs that my generation will go through to bring life to the generations to follow.
