How to Help Vitaly

How to help at any time: 


Vitaly has a wish to read classical literature, but 
his problem is that he cannot get these books in 
Kazakhstan. If people could send him some books that 
he could read he will be very grateful! Also keep in 
mind that Vitaly is loosing his vision at the moment,
and he does face 
the possibility of becoming blind in the future. 
Books of any value for Vitaly should be sent through:

Paperbacks of little value can be sent directly to Vitaly.
There is a chance that he will not receive them, due to difficulties

with the local post office in Kazakhstan.
Please do not sent any thing valuable to his address.
Post office workers often packages, searching for money
or other valuables. They have little interest in books
but they sometimes forget to reseal the packages and
to send them to Vitaly.

Financial support! Vitaly has saved enough money to travel abroad, but cannot afford more than that. In order to get proper medical care he is fully dependent upon financial support from some other source. If there is a charity somewhere that can help him cover
these costs it will mean the world to him! (Please do not send money, I have no way to administer it yet!)

First priority:

1. Get in touch with doctors on the WEB. Reason: That way one can find out what Vitaly actually needs to do.

2. Follow up the neurosurgeon lead that Kyra provided on Stoll's message board.

3. Find out where the nearest Norwegian embassy/consulate is. Rationale: He has been offered a place to stay for free in Norway while he is (if he can!!) receiving medical evaluation. But he must have a visa before he can enter.

Second priority:

4. Find a doctor in this area that can perform a medical evaluation.

5. Get in touch with a few charity organizations to evaluate the possibility of receiving financial support.

Third priority: 6. Write an invitation so that Vitaly can come to Norway and receive a medical evaluation, provided that competent and willing doctors can be found.
