The Korinthian Canal separates the main Greek land mass from the Peleponnes peninsula . Before the canal was finished Greek vessels would sail into the Gulf of Korinth and have their ship brought up upon land and towed to the Aegean sea, only a few kilometres away. |
We now have arrived at Epidaurios, and its famous amphitheatre. Once a centre of healing in the Greek world, Epidaurios is home to the healing god Asclepios . Many statues and stone tablets have been found honoring him for helping someone recover from illness. |

We enter Mycenae by way of the cities gate. Called the Lion's gate because of its huge keystone with two Lions on it. |
