Today's Glimpse comes from my time with God this morning and my attempts to solidify what I want to focus on in my relationship with God.
"For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, "Fear not, I will help you." " - Isaiah 41:13 (RSV)
In general I completely miss God's affectionate side, I've spent much of much Christian life trying to connect emotionally with God and although I've grown - there's still something missing.. when I read this scripture this morning it put an image in my mind of where I want I want to grow to be with God this year. It matched up the feelings I've had that I couldn't quite put into words. It reminds me of what I think/feel when I sing that song 'My God and I". I love the imagery of walking hand in hand with God and all that it implies... the friendship, the security, the freedom I feel in my heart, the love, the strength and protection of being with the perfect Father.
