Today's Glimpse...

"And a highway will be there,
it will be called the way of holiness.
........ snip ....snip
But only the redeemed will walk there,
and the ransomed of the Lord will return."
Isaiah 35:8a, 9b, 10a

From the beginning God planned a way for his people to be right with him, a highway he called it. Normally I try to relate to things around me to get the concept but if we compare this with the highways around here the analogy will fall apart. I've heard the expressway in Boston referred to as the 'distressway'.. certainly not the image God wants us to understand, but it is what some think of Christianity as... a distressing bunch of rules that makes it more difficult to follow God. What he does want us to understand... from the Hebrew the idea is a path/road set above others that allows for a straighter, easier way to get from one place to another. God knows us, who we are, what we struggle with as a people, as individuals and from the beginning he planned to make a way for us to come to him. It is exciting to see that through the death of Jesus God was faithful to that promise and 2500+ years later he still is. God has given us his Word as a guide to find the highway, when we travel on it - HIS WAY - not ours it is clear that it's truth and he is completely faithful and trustworthy! We are on the heart of God!! We always have been and always will be! I have been redeemed/ransomed by God... after all that it must hurt God so much when I doubt or wonder if he will continue to take care of me.
