- The
Personal Test
Lesson 3 -
Demo
-
-
I hope that lesson #1 and #2 have
proven to be helpful in understanding yourself better.
The following lesson #3, is different then the last
two. Lesson #3, is looking at your personal beliefs
before starting on this path, and anwsering questions
that might come up in everyday life. There is also a
brief quest about the diety or dieites that you have
an interest in. All this can help you understand
yourself, as you have found in the previous lessons.
Good luck and keep up the good work.
-
-
- 1a. It is often helpful to
examine our feeling and attitudes toward a topic that
we are interested in. What is your feeling about Wicca
and or Shamanism?
- I feel that both are a proven
belief system, and that to follow these two paths is a
mixed blessing. You see both paths are different yet
quite similiar. To follow both is to walk a balanced
line between the two paths.
-
- 1b. Examine your impressions,
preconceptions, biases, etc. How have your reactions
changed regarding it throughout your
life?
- Over the years, my impressions and
what not have waxed and weaned, I've gone for the
darker side of the path, and I've gone for the lighter
side. When younger, I was more curious about different
religions. As I grew older I got more interested, at
first I thought maybe there was such a thing as MAGIC
as it is shown on TV, but as I grew older and studied
more, I found that MAGIC is within, and ones belief in
what happens is all that is needed. So in effect my
belief in Wicca and Shamanism have not changed very
much, but they have changed.
-
- 2. Examine your present beliefs
in reincarnation. Do you have any past-life
memories?
- I belive in past lives or
reincarnation. I know not if i've every lived before,
however, I do know that I have been called an old
soul. Meaning that I have been around on this earth
for an extended amount of time. But as to remembering
past lives, no, I remember nothing. I only know what I
dream, and my dreams are of the past yet of the
present and they always come true.
-
- 3. Which dieties are most
important to you?
- To me the dieties that are most
important are: Gaia, Lilith, Creator, Bast, Luna, and
Isis.
-
- 4. Find all the information
that you can on your dieties you find most important
to you, and write a manimum of 5 paragraphs per diety,
telling about him or her and what he/she/they where
the gods/goddesses of, and any other information that
would be helpful.
-
- 5. One Saturday morning you see
a program for children, on tv, which depicts a Witch
as a worshipper of the Christian Devil. What would you
do?
- Besides being rather upset, I'd
mostly likely just dismiss it. If it really urked me,
I'd write the channel it was own and ask why such a
program was aired for children, when it depics
negative info towards Wicca and associated religions.
If that failed I'd write to the company which produced
the program, and if all else failed to the Programing
Board which sets the standards for TV programs, and
tell them what the program did and if they could
please do something about further programing. The
likelihood of anything coming of this though is slim,
but it would be what I might do.
-
- 6a. Your Mother/Father happens
to find your Book of Shadows. He/She immediatly
assumes you worship the devil (satan). What are you
going to tell him/her?
- First my folks know about my path,
and are not pleased with it, but are understanding.
But if they were less understanding. I'd try and
explain about my path, and site material that they
would understand, I'd get them to look at what is in
the book, to see that there is nothing to do with the
devil or such a personification.
-
- 6b. Your Best Friend happens to
find your Book of Shadows. He/She immediatly assumes
you worship the devil (satan). What are you going to
tell him/her?
- Well if my best friend wasn't
willing to hear me out about the path I'm on then he
or she is not worth having as a friend in the first
place, also why would I conceal what I am from my
friends? I have nothing to hide, from anyone. Least of
all my friends.
-
- 6c. Your Boy/Girl Friend
happens to find your Book of Shadows. He/She
immediatly assumes you worship the devil (satan). What
are you going to tell him/her?
- Well if my boyfriend wasn't
willing to hear me out about the path I'm on then he's
not worth having as a boyfriend in the first place,
also why would I conceal what I am from my boyfriends?
I have nothing to hide, from anyone. Least of all my
boyfriends.
-
- 6d. Your
Grandmother/Grandfather happens to find your Book of
Shadows. He/She immediatly assumes you worship the
devil (satan). What are you going to tell
him/her?
- Since my grandmother was the one
that got me into this, she'd have no problem with me
following this path. This question is
illrevalent.
-
- 6e. Your Sister/Brother happens
to find your Book of Shadows. He/She immediatly
assumes you worship the devil (satan). What are you
going to tell him/her?
- I'd try and explain about my path,
and site material that he or she would understand, I'd
get him or her to look at what is in the book, to see
that there is nothing to do with the devil or such a
personification. If he or she was still not convinced
I'd just say each to his own, and leave it at that.
Perhaps in time she or he would come around in his or
her thinking.
-
- 7. What are your real, deep
reasons for wanting to practice?
- My reason for wanting to practice,
is to further understand myself, and to better help
other's who ask my help.
-
- 8. Can you discipline yourself
to follow through on plans and goals?
- This I have no trouble in doing,
since I can be very single minded at
times.
-
- 9. Have you balanced your life
mentally, physically, and Spiritually?
- This I am working on, I feel that
I have achieved a balance of sorts, but I still have a
ways to go before total balance.
-
- 10. What changes can you make
to achieve this balance?
- I would like to be whole, my mind,
body and spirit as one. I'd like to feel at peace
within myself and know that what I do is for the
better of all, and not only myself.
-
- 11. Do you fear the unknown?
The non-physical? Why?
- I fear nothing and everything. The
reason for this is because there is much to learn and
there is much that I will never know until such time
as this knowledge is told to me. Thus I fear
Everything and Nothing.
-
- 12. Have you had psychic
experiences? Hunches or other gut feelings that led
you to make the right decision even though the visible
facts may not have supported that
decision?
- I have done this several times,
from playing out a hunch about a friend's misdeeds to
helping an older person find peace at the
end.
-
- 13. How sympathetic are you
toward others? Too much? Too little?
- I can be very sympathetic,
however, over the years I've learned to trust my gut
feeling about people.
-
- 14. Can you temper advice to
fit another's religious belief if that belief is
different from yours? Can you avoid giving
advice?
- I can temper my belief, however it
is very hard. As to avoid giving advice, my advice is
always given in such a way that they draw the
conclusion that they are looking for.
-
- 15. Are you used by "friends"
who arrive feeling depressed and leave feeling
wonderful, while you end up being down and/or
exhausted?
- No this doesn't happen to me. I
shield against all who enter my place or are near me.
I give help when needed, and on occasion when healing
I will be drained a little but not enough to cause me
to be down or exhausted.
-
- 16. Have you faced and accepted
responsibility for what has happened in your life, or
are you still laying blame on others, such as parents,
teachers, companions, etc.?
- I take the blame that comes my
way, if it is of my own doing. What comes around goes
around, and the three fold law is always in
place.
-
- 17. Have you let go of the
past, or do you still talk emotionally about old
hurts?
- I let go of my past, for it is of
no use to me. Past hurts are not worth the energy that
they take to be worth remembering.
-
- 18. Do you use the victim role,
helplessness, illness, or guilt to manipulate and
control others? Be brutally honest on this
point?
- I do not. I am rather honest in
all my dealings, even if my honestly gets me into
trouble for speaking the truth which others wish not
to hear.
-
- 19. Do you have trouble with
patience when your desires are not met
immediately?
- I do on occasion have trouble, but
as time passes I am learning to control
this.
-
- 20a. What effect does a sunset
have on you in a moment of calmness?
- The setting of the sun makes me
feel peace and happy. I love to watch the sunset
almost as much as I do like to watch it
rise.
-
- 20b. The sight of moonlight on
fresh snow?
- It brings me peace to look at the
moonlight on fresh snow, it is rather comforting and
mystical to me.
-
- 20c. When you see beautiful
nature scenes, does something within you yearn to
express itself, yet you cannot find adequate
words?
- When I see nature in all its
beauty I am often lost for words, I am also often
drawn to draw what I feel when I see nature in all her
beauty.
-
- 21. Do you believe in a Supreme
Power that created everything in the universe, yet
feel uncomfortable with the accepted orthodox
explanations?
- I believe that there is a power
out there that is not explained, wether or not it is
singular is another matter. Everything I've seen on
this planet is always in two's or more, so to believe
that there is only a singular being or some such I
find hard to believe. However, for me, as long as life
is around and as long as we seek to understand I know
that whatever is out there will help when most
needed.
-
- 22. Do the phases of the moon
affect your moods? Cause bouts of nervousness or
lethargy?
- No, I don't believe so. However,
being female I know my monthly cycle is part of the
cycle of the moon.
-
- 23. Do certain seasons of the
year appeal to you more than others?
- Yes, my favorite times of years
are fall and spring. I like winter also, but I dislike
summer with a passion for it is just too hot for
me.
-
- 24. Do you have precognitive
dreams? Sometimes these are clear immediately, other
times cloaked in symbology that can be interpreted
only at a later date.
- Yes, I often have these sort of
dreams. I've has them since a child and they always
come true.
-
- 25. Have you had a severe
illness, life threatening surgery, great personal
loss, or near-death experience that caused you to
change your opinion on the spiritual?
- No, nothing of this sort has
happened to me.
-
- 26. Do you have an affinity
with animals? Can you communicate with them in some
way?
- I seem to have a thing with
animals. Most domestic animals will come to me and do
as I ask. Also, when at the zoo I can call out to any
animal and they usually come to the part of the
enclosure that I'm at.
-
- 27. Do you consider yourself
liberal, moderate, or conservative when assessing and
accepting new ideas?
- I consider myself to be very open
to new ideas. I will always take what is told and
decide from there whether or not it has a valid point
in my opinion.
-
- 28. Is it important to you to
attain/maintain a certain social position, or do you
value privacy and personal expression above what
others think of your lifestyle?
- I live as I do and I am who I am.
I care little about what is though about my position.
I only care that I know that what i have an ado is
what makes me happy, and is right for me.
-
- 29. Can you keep silent about
your personal life, beliefs, and actions, or do you
rush to share them with anyone who will
listen?
- I can keep silent. I tell only
those who wish to know. Or who inquire, I force not my
path on other's I help those who ask for help and I
listen to those who need to be listened
to.
-
- 30. If someone tells you
something in confidence, can you keep the
secret?
- I keep secrets with a passion. I
will tell none, save if the secret is a life or death
matter. I will do nothing directly to stop a life
ending, but I will try my best to try and make this
end not happen.
-
- 31. Can you be happy spending
time by yourself, or do you feel the need to be
surrounded by others?
- I like being on my own, being with
people can be very hard on the mind, so much emotions
battering away can get rather tiring over time.
Solitude is preferable at times when one needs to
think ones own thoughts, or just wants to be
alone.
