My interests fall between a curious inquisitiveness in astrology and a keen sensitivity to the marriage of art and technology. As you may have noticed, I have started recognising the need for a new educational paradigm where multi- and inter-disciplinary sensibilities are utilised as valuable contributors to overall knowledge dissemination. This is more relevant in developing countries where teaching is doled out as "memorisable packets" to obtain competitive qualification.
Design Education is also a "borrowed" model which ,in my opinion, has not been adapted to our socio-cultural needs: the model has not evolved. We must bring design out of the studio/classroom and try to make it felt in our environments and our living cultures.
Research has always held my fancy. I have done some interesting experiments with eye-movement recorders in graduate school.Much of this work still interests me. Who knows, I might decide to "chuck it all" some day and become a design research scholar. What a pity there aren't any Ph.D.'s offered in ID itself!!
