- Matthew 12:35-37
My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me;
I cannot choose the colours
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes He weaveth sorrow
And I in foolish pride,
Forget that He seeth the upper
And I the under side.
Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.
The dark threats are as needful
In the Weaver's skilful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

It is only a tiny rosebud
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I -
The flower God opens so sweetly
In my hands would fade and die.
If I cannot unfold the rosebud
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of everyday,
And I'll look up to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way
For the pathway that lies before me
My Heavenly Father knows -
I'll trust in Him to unfold the moments
Just as He unfolds the rose.

In God’s sight, one is never so empty as when he is filled with thoughts of self.
O child of God, guard well your eyes,
From anything that stains the heart;
Forsake those things that soil the mind -
Your Father wants you set apart.
- Fasick
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:
except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
- Psalm 127:1
An important part of praying is a willingness to be part of the answer.
Don’t keep one eye on the temptation while praying not to be led into it.
Many Christians are doing nothing,
but no Christian has nothing to do.
God did not leave us on earth to get used to the dark but to shine as lights.
A Christian should not be ashamed of the Gospel nor a shame to the Gospel.
Though some may call you Christian
Because you act the part,
It’s what God thinks that matters;
Does Christ live in your heart?

What comes from man will never last,
It’s here today, tomorrow past;
What comes from God will always be
The same for all eternity!

You see, God, it’s like this:
We could attend Church more faithfully if your day came to some other time.
You have chosen a day that comes at the end of a hard week, and we’re all tired out.
Not only that, but it’s day following Saturday night,
and Saturday night is one time when we feel that we should go out and enjoy ourselves.
Often it is after midnight when we reach home, and it is almost impossible to get up on Sunday morning.
And you must realize that you have picked the very day on which the morning paper takes the longest to read -
the day when the biggest meal of the week must be prepared. We’d like to go to Church,
and know that we should; but you have just chosen the wrong day.

If you were arrested for being a Christian,
would there be enough evidence to convict you?
God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.
