A bitter and anguished life some lead
Unwilling and afraid to alter their course
Lest they be mocked by peers and fail
Traveling with the utmost haste and speed
To an unknown destination from a forgotten source
Allowing the words and thoughts of others to prevail

Their journey of self-pity leads them into an abyss
With not a sole in sight in which to confide
Their troubled spirits tattered and torn
Their pain and soars no longer heal with a kiss
Shamed and alone with no bearings or guide
All the while wishing theyd never been born

The path of life they walk twists and turns
Between long expanses of narrowing straights
And alternate routes offering new ways to appear
With infernal desire their cold hearts yearn
To completely abandon their habitual traits
Of running and hiding from insecurities and fear
