Independent Learning Exercises.
In order for you to be able to construct the web for your assignment,
you will need a lot of subject-specific information. You started this
process in the grey zone exercises last week. If you want to perform this
task really well, however, you will need more than just a list of sites.
Try and organise the material you found (and keep searching for more)
into your own private information gateway. Try and organise the material
under various categorisation schemes - by subject matter, by level of
knowledge required to understand the material, by style of presentation,
etc. You should find the exercises done this week on identifying purpose,
audience and objectives to be useful here: ask yourself what purpose,
audience and objectives the designers of the sites you have found seem
to have in mind. This should help you in bringing some order to your information
gateway.
If you have a really good gateway, when you have made decisions on your
own purpose, etc., content, style of presentation, etc. you can simply
reach into your gateway for the right material to re-design and re-present
in your own site.
