The "I can't belive there's a WEB page for this!" Page

Shoeless Joe

http://www.fieldofdreamsmoviesite.com

"If you build it, (they) will come."  And so they still do!  This site won't help you much to understand the novel, but it is interesting to see what became of the ball field. This site has many different web addresses, so don't be surprised if you've been here before.

Shoeless Joe Hall of Fame

http://www.blackbetsy.com

For the true baseball aficianado, this site is the closest Shoeless Joe will probably ever come to getting into the Hall of Fame.  This is another comercial site with "stuff" to sell.  Why anyone would want a replica of "Black Betsy" is beyond me, but if you want it, you can get it here.

In Country

"Who's Responsible?" by W. D. Ehrhart
http://lists.village.virginia.edu/sixties/HTML_docs/Texts/Reviews/Ehrhart_In_Country.html
This is a fascinating lecture given at LaSalle University in the Fall of 1991. Mr. Erhhart was the expert source Ms. Mason used to ensure that she had her facts straight, but Mr. Erhhart offers much more than a check for details.

Amadeus

The Mozart Project
http://www.frontiernet.net/~sboerner/mozart/

This site has wonderful information about Mozart, but what you might find most interesting is an essay which discusses the historical validity of the play/movie.

Immortal Beloved

Yes, the actual letters are here!
http://www.usyd.edu.au/~simonj/lvb.ib.html
This page will take you to the letters which form the basis of the plot of Immortal Beloved. For more information on our friend Ludwig, click on the "back to the home page" button at the bottom of the page.

PICTURE LINKS TO OTHER LITERARY SITES

http://www.sju.edu/depts/enlish

Scroll down to the "Literary Locales" and you'll find a gold mine of links to sites dealing with literature from all over the world. Some of the sites are a bit uneven, but this is a remendous asset if you are doing reserach or need some additional information on the literature you might be reading.

FAMOUS FIRST LINES

http://pc159.lns.cornell.edu/firsts/

Here's a site that gives you the first line of a famous work of literature to which you are supposed to guess the title. Don't worry - the answers are provided. Have fun!
