We had fun on our "Benjamin trip" - many thought that it was their favorite so far.  It was nearly a 12 hour trip, but lots of fun as these pictures show.

Where do you go if you want to learn all about the territory that God gave to the tribe of Benjamin?  After starting at Kiriath Jearim, we went to a possible site of Emmaus, saw Gezer from afar, traveled up the strategic Beth Horon ridge route, checked out the watersystems of Gibeon, ate lunch at Gibeah, scouted out "The Pass," and went down to Jericho.  The day ended with sunset from an overlook of the Wadi Qilt.

More pictures of this trip are on the "More Benjamin" page, including what IBEX girls have done to out-do previous "camel kissers." (yuk!)

Group photo at King Hussein's unfinished palace at the hometown of King Saul, Gibeah. So you see a donkey out in a field somewhere.  Does it cross your mind to go and GET ON IT???

The water shaft at Gibeon is very impressive both in size and construction.  We suppose it's funner exploring it when you don't have to bring water back up when you're done. Leo climbs out of the second Gibeonite watersystem.

Students gather around a sheep pen.  Note: this is not for tourists; it's the real thing.  Actually we hardly saw another tourist the whole day (or bathroom, for that matter).

Amy and Stacey jumped up on a camel at Jericho. Marie, it wouldn't hurt to take a step back. :-)

We get too many of these pictures from the other side.  I'm not sure that it doesn't look better this way :-). Definitely a better view from atop the sheikh's tomb in Canada Park.
