This table is used to determine the outcome of an attack against infantry units. It is based on the "Infantry" capabilities table with modifiers added as necessary. Example: Non Moving (NM) British Paratroopers firing at a range of 12 to 16 inches have an offensive firepower factor of "2".

A German SS unit with an inherent defense of "2" is in a wood building which gives them a "+2" modifier (determined by referring to the "Infantry Fire Defense Modifiers " table, giving the SS boys a "4" defense which is read across the top of the table. The British player rolls two percentile dice and get a 42%. The German squad is Suppressed for one turn. If the roll had been less than 20%, the result would be a Kill, eliminating that SS squad.

This is also used with High Explosive (HE), Flamethrowers, grenades, etc. against infantry. Example. The British Paratroopers decide to celebrate their victory over the SS squad and fail to see the grenade that was thrown at them. It explodes with a firepower of "1". The Brits are foolishly standing around in the open giving them only their base defense of "2". The grenade tosser rolls a 21% which is exactly what was needed for a Kill taking out the British squad - 21% or less. Check the "HE Firepower" table for HE, etc. firepower factors. This round goes to the Germans.
