King Scorpion.
A commemorative palette was found and is assigned to a predynastic king called 'Scorpion'. Another object exists called the Scorpion macehead which depicts this king wearing the white crown of upper Egypt. This tells us that this king existed before the unification of the two lands.

King Narmer.
A commemoritive piece was found with this kings name on it. It is called the Narmer Palette. On one side king Narmer is wearing the white crown of upper Egypt. On the obverse side he is wearing the red crown of lower Egypt. We assume that king Narmer either unified the two lands of upper and lower Egypt or began the process of unification that was completed in the 1st dynasty.
