It's past midnight. Thankfully, I'm still wired (more laundry). It's been a busy few days. At SLIS, there's talk that they won't have the funds to keep grad assistants and student peons like me around when the Fall semester comes. Cyna and the lounge gang are conspiring to gorge on what may be the last hours left on the state's once gushing payroll. If I lose that job, it would really suck. I got bumped up a level (for $6.05 an hour -- minimum is $5.25) only this year. Meanwhile, at Queen's, I've been thinking of changing wards. All the guys I used to work with in Kekela (moderatel zany) are slowly trickling down to Kam (mildly zany). It's a lot more laid back there, mostly because there are fewer sincerely dangerous patients going postal. It would mean a little less pay, but I think the stress reduction would be worth it. In other news, I finally went grocery shopping tonight. Not that I couldn't have gone for the last few nights... I'm just a gold medal procrastinator. Still, I knew I wasn't going to be able to hold out much longer. I realized how far I'd pushed the "biological need for food" envelope tonight when I instinctively started snacking on "BacOs." Ah, yes, the salad accessory that contains absolutely no natural substances! Cool Things About Hawaii, number 3116: You know all the "specialty" shows that MTV puts on in the early mornings (where, ironically, the coolest videos are shown)? They come on here starting at around 11 p.m. You know, Radio Free Hawai`i really rocks. There's this song on MTV now called "Children" by Robert Miles. Ambient-slash-rave, Kinda like elevator music with a pulse. It's not bad. The thing is, the guys at Radio Free were overplaying it months ago. When they played it, even, they said, "Just watch... This will be big someday and you'll have heard it here first." They were right! Imagine, I got sick of a song before most everyone else did. Since I'm dropping all these links, I might as well mention my review of ID-4. |
