Belgium, Cameroon, France, Gabon, Haiti, Morocco, Quebec, Switzerland and others will soon be coming.

Do you like to learn foreign languages? Just like to listen to them, or maybe see them in print? Well, here is a list of links from Language TreeÔ which should provide you with some opportunities to use you languages. Now, the Francophonie Web, a collection of worthwhile sites in French from French-speaking countries. A special thanks to Sylvie Brouillette of Montreal, who inspired me to create this site by sending me a list of more than two dozen very interesting sites of Quebec.

Newspapers of Belgium

• Le Soir. Newspaper of Brussels with a just a few headlines and pictures in their online edition. Very little news that you can sink your teetch into. The web design is very mediocre. It is hoped that they will improve their online paper in the near future! In French

• Isaha'a Boh. This is a special news service which lists a number of articles on the internet daily. There is also an archive that contains articles for the last month. A basic but interesting site. In French

Newspapers of Morroco

• Le Matin. Local newspaper of Morocco with local and national, but little international news. You can see the headlines and pictures from the front page with PDF. One good thing about this paper is that you can access several months of archives for free. Much of the paper is still under construction, so more will be available in the future. In French

Quebec

• Journal de Montreal. Local newspaper of Montreal with local, national, and international news. For the moment, the web site just gives headlines for many of the articles. In order to get the full story, it is necessary to have a paid subscription. The artistic layout of the home page iw very well done, though it takes a long time to load. In French

Music of Quebec

• ADISQ I was very happy to see this site with such a long list of Quebec singers and other musical artists. While there is a commercial focus on this site, and while I was disappointed not to find large sections of lyrics to the songs, you can get occasional excerpts from some of songs. In any event, a great site to browse if you are interested in the musical side of Quebec culture.

Government of Quebec

• Main Government Site Here you will find in-depth information about Quebec's government, starting with the Prime Minister, the National Assembly, and the Courts. Much information is provided concerning the ministries and agencies as well. In French, English, and much Spanish.

Searching

• La Toile du Québec An excellent search engine for sites of Quebec. This site currently has around 800 categories and subcategories, with more than 26,000 sites. A nice way to find out everything cultural that is on the web from Quebec. In French.

Switzerland

Newspapers of Switzerland

• Tribune de Genève Leading newspaper of Geneva, Switzerland. The paper in not very well developed electronically, but you can stay on top of the local, national and international headlines. The editorials, published in their entirely, may be worth reading for the local Swiss view on things.
