A picture is worth a thousand words. This is almost the end of the adventure. Covered with mud and a little banged up we exited the mine happy to have followed in the footsteps of Chico Rei, king of slaves, and the untold hundreds of black Africans who lost their lives digging for gold in the Chico Rei Gold Mine.
