Holes in the walls

Throughout the mine you can find several holes about 15" in diameter and about 10" deep. These holes, or , were used by the slaves to put their daily quota of gold or gemstones which each slave found during the course of the week. Each slave had his own inviolatable, ,. The master, Major Agusto would enter the mine and take the contents. No slave would remove anything from another slaves hole upon pain of death.
