Matthews-Winters Park

Information
The result of several land acquisitions beginning in 1973, the Matthews-Winters Park comprises nearly 1000 acres and is part of the Jefferson County Open Space program.  The park lies at the entrance to Mt. Vernon canyon and the former site of the town of Mt. Vernon.  It lies on one of the early routes to the gold fields of Central City.

The trail detailed here is the Village Walk - a very easy trail about 1.0 miles in length.
