Temple of Poseidon

Cape Sunion is 69 km southeast of Athens, at the southern tip of Attica and was built in the 5th century BC. I was fortunate enough to visit here my first day in Greece.

Takis brought me here my first day in Greece. Others visiting were busy searching for Lord Byron's name carved on the temple, and Takis thought I was scared because I'm a bit afraid of heights. However, I loved it here so much that I would have been happy if I hadn't gone anywhere else! It was absolutely beautiful and I was quite content sitting there looking out at the sea.

I did visit other places though....
