The Phalanx Covenant Part 4
X-Men #37

In the beginning of this conclusion, we find that the young mutants, Angelo Espinosa, Monet St. Croix, Paige Guthrie, and Clarice Ferguson, have their excape flawed by Harvest who would have killed him, if it wasn't for the return of Sabretooth. He comes in slashing, but most of his efforts are futile against the Phalanx member who has oddly lost connection with the collective. But Banshee and Everett Thomas came to shatter Harvest to pieces with a sonic scream.

As Paige began introducing herself to Sean, Creed began sniffing her, noticing she had two scents. Suddenly, he slashed at the young girl, tearing away a piece of the techno-organic virus and part of her own skin. She then began tearing her skin off, revealing her mutant power to shed her skin and become another form. But if Banshee's sonic scream didn't previously tear that off her by itself, then that must mean Harvest has not yet been destroyed. As he reformed, Ms. Frost and Jubilee arrive to get the other young mutants away from the huge ship.

While Banshee and Creed gave it their all, Clarice, nicknamed Blink, realized that no matter how hard they tried, the Phalanx would keep coming back unless it was stopped right then and there. So she did what she thought she must do, she ran towards Harvest, past the now unconscious Sabretooth, and into the fight. She knew what she had to do, she must destroy Harvest, taking him out of existence, and that meant using her power to the extreme. She succeeded, "blinking" Harvest and the Phalanx present to nowhere, and he was gone. But so was she.

The next generation of mutants, along with Banshee, Emma Frost, and Sabretooth, gathered ashore, giving a silent thanks to young Clarice Ferguson. She sacrificed her life to save them, and this was just the beginning. The beginning of Generation X.
