Synch

Name: Synch
Real Name: Everett Thomas
Age: 16
Place of Origin: St. Louis,
First Appearance: X-Men #36
Powers: The mutant ability to become synchronized with another mutant's mutagenic aura. Becomes virtually "in synch" with the ability.
Background: Everett was a standard kid, good student, no troubles, and all that stuff, until he discovered that he was a mutant whose ability was to synchronize his aura to any mutant next to him. This synchronicity allows him to duplicate the powers held by the mutant with whom he is synchronizing. However, by now, he only keeps the power for a while when the donour is apart. Further, and as opposed to Rogue, the other mutant does not lose his/her own powers. Also unlike Rogue, he has retained control over whether he takes a person's powers or not.

He felt really good with his new abilities, but then Phalanx appeared and tried to kidnap him. Rescued at the last moment by Banshee, Jubilee, Emma Frost, and Sabretooth, he teamed with them to help the mutants captured by the Phalanx. These mutants later joined together as Generation X. It was Everett Thomas who, using Jubilee's power against the Phalanx, blew them straight to Hell.

Once, he was possesed by Emplate, but he has recovered all right. Both Banshee and Beast said that Everett has the potential to become an omnipotent mutant, or something along those lines. Well, that is indeed possible, I think. He's pretty powerful, y'know. It's also been shown recently that good ol' Ev has a bit of a crush on good ol' Jubes, and vice versa. Awwww. In't dat cuuuuute?
