The story begins with the appearance of Monet Saint Croix being escorded by limo with another woman. She was talking of things back at home, about the twins and her brother and how they are affecting her father, when they were attacked by a lone member of the collective techno-organic beings known as the Phalanx. Monet looked as if in a daze the entire time, and showed no emotion as her chaparone was killed and when the Phalanx confronted her, she hardly flinched.

We then cut to the recently returned Banshee visiting the Medical center of Xavier's mansion to check up on Emma Frost, who was presentliy freaking out. Odd, little things about some of the present X-Men's behavior began showing.

He tried to reason with Storm, saying that they were being a little harsh towards Emma, being that she awoke from a coma not to long ago only to find her former students, the Hellions, were dead.

He then got a call in the communications room from Scott Summers and Jean Grey who wanted to contact the professor. after they hung up, Archangel appeared and freaked out at Sean for not reporting the call. So Sean decided it was a good idea to get a workout in the danger room but found it was occupied by Jubilee. Then he saw Psylocke coming out of Xavier's private chambers, the only off-limits room in the entire mansion. This added to his suspicions and when he said something about Xavier walking again to Bishop and Gambit, they didn't even comply towards the utterly false comment. Now Banshee knew something was wrong.

It was revealed to him that the only actual people at the mansion were Sabretooth, Jubilee, Emma Frost, and himself. So he did what he had to; he found an uncommon ally in Sabretooth as he battled the now revealed Phalanx who were impersonating the X-Men so could absorb as much information as they could about the Next Generation of mutants in Prof. Xavier's files. So Sabretooth agreed to help, first getting Jubes out of the Danger room, then releasing Frost from the restraining belts.

As Creed and Frost made their way to the rendezvous, Banshee was forced to set a destruct sequence in the cerebro system, destroying the Phalanx present, but also obliterating all informtion stored there over teh span of almost a lifetime by Professor Xavier.
