I remember the
first time when I appreciated a piece of verse from the Bible, I happened
to read it from an excellent book by the late Carl Sagan - Cosmos. Psalms
8:3 was quoted out of Carl's sense of awe at the grandeur of the universe
and how this puny little creature called "Man" relates to
the cosmos :
" When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the
moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained : What is man that thou
art mindful of him ? "
I was mesmerized by these words, written thousands of years ago, that
shared my dilemma as to why I am here pondering at all. Since
then I began to scour the Bible to investigate and to search for poignant
verses, but nothing more. It was just another book to me way back then,
when I was still an unbeliever, and a seeker for the meaning of life.
When I finally encountered Jesus Christ, things totally changed. I began
to appreciate more and more bits of words from the Bible. The wisdom,
and puzzles I discover from its pages each day is just totally awesome.
And as I look back as I reflect upon my first encounter with the Big
Book, I am deeply inspired and motivated by the fact that if a seeker
out there who comes across any bit of verse from the Bible, in any media,
may start up something in their spirit, as they seek for the Truth.
With me knowing a little bit of how the internet works and moved by
the Spirit, this is my small contribution to this orb which is permeating
through the lives of billions everyday.
Nothing is an accident, nor anything is by chance. Even the data reaching
your mind is pre-ordained.
May you be Blessed by this encounter.
