Born in Ontario and raised in Ottawa, Canada, MacKenzia fell in love with acting after viewing his first play on Boardway. He first intended to educate others through drama when he was a 21-year-old student at Concordia University. Within two years, he was accepted at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He has worked steadily in Canadian theater. Upon moving to Los Angeles, his film and television career was very sucessful.

He enjoys politics, skiing and hockey. Being a resident of New York City, his loyalty lies with the New York Mets. His birthday is on the 17th of October
