All of our patterns are true to armoring needs. I have often seen the work of those who would be great chain smiths reveal their inexperience by not knowing, understanding, or offering real medieval patterns. They are producing pieces with inherent flaws, places where a blade would catch and pierce the mail causing you to have a very bad day.
