Inner Harbor Minisub
The Inner Harbor Minisub was designed and built for the underwater inspection of the Harbor Tunnel Nexi, and the destruction of sea creatures. To aid in this task, the minisub has been designed to carry two squads of Undersea Combat Specialists. While the Oscars (corruption of USCS) and minisub crew embark through the main hatch when the minisub is grounded in a slipdock, the entire forward area of the minisub can be flooded so that the Oscars can disembark through the same hatch underwater. Besides the Oscars, the minisubs can fight with their own compliment of torpedoes and specially modulated blue-green lasers.
The minisubs are designed mainly for short duration tours of duty, usually no more than a week at a time. Other than the Oscar staging area in the bow of the minisub, conditions onboard are extremely cramped. Facilities and a sleeping area is crammed into spare bulkhead space, and all nutrition is provided by MREs. For the rare extended missions, the Oscars are reduced to one squad and the spare sling space is used for additional rations and air supplies. Doing this can extend the underwater time to three or four weeks. Besides standard equipment present on all sea vehicles, the minisub uses a water pump propulsion system that makes the minisub almost completely undetectable, even at near maximum speeds.
Since its adoption several decades ago, the minisub has proven itself in battle many times. Beside the Baltimore Inner Harbor, the minisubs also patrol the Chesapeake Bay up to its mouth into the Atlantic. Because of this limited patrol area, very few minisubs have fallen into non-Baltimorean hands, probably no more than 5 or 6.

Notes:
[1] Destroying the control fins make the minisub more difficult to control underwater (-20% Piloting rolls, -4 to dodge).
[2] Destroying the main hatch in the front and the emergency egress hatches above the control fins will not cause the minisub to sink, as they act like airlocks. However, it is possible to fire into the crew compartment, the destruction of which will sink the minisub and possibly kill the crew if they are not properly equipped.
[3] Depleting the MDC of the bridge sail, or the main body, destroys the minisub's structural integrity, causing it to sink. If properly equipped to survive the depths, the crew must swim for safety.
Speed:
Water Surface: Maximum speed of 10 knots (8 mph / 17.6 kph), sustainable indefinitely.
UnderWater: Maximum speed of 35 knots (30 mph / 62.6 kph), sustainable indefinitely.
Range: Unlimited due to 5-year fusion reactor.
Maximum Depth: 1000 feet.
Statistical Data:
Height: (Body) 8 feet, 6 inches (2.6 meters). (Sail) 5 feet.
Width: 6 feet (2 meters).
Length: 45 feet (15 meters).
Displacement: 10 tons.
Tour of Duty: Has limited air recycling abilities, 1 week maximum duration. Carries food and water supplies for 5 days. Special mission load-outs extend this time to three weeks for air and supplies.
Cargo: Has storage space for crew items, armor, SCUBA gear, weapons, and basic equipment.
Power System: Electric power with rechargable power cells, 5 week power duration.
Availability: Poor on the East Coast, almost nonexistant elsewhere.
Market Price: 9.2 million credits.
Weapon Systems:
1. Dual-Barreled Laser Turrets (2): The two turrets are mounted on the bow and the bridge sail of the minisub. They fire a blue-green laser that can be used underwater. The forward turret, which is controlled by the pilot, can rotate 360 degrees and has a 60 degree arc of fire. The rear turret, controlled by the co-pilot, can rotate 270 degrees and has a 60 degree arc of fire.
Maximum Effective Range: 2,000 feet (610 m).
Mega Damage: 1D4x10 MD for a double blast.
Rate of Fire: Equal to combined hand to hand attacks of pilot.
Payload: Unlimited.
2. Light Torpedo Launchers (6): There are six light torpedo launchers mounted in the bow of the minisub. They can be fired one at a time, or in volleys of up to six at a time.
Maximum Effective Range: 5 miles.
Mega Damage: 2D6x10 MD (HE).
Rate of Fire: The launcher can fire one, two, four, or six torpedoes per attack. They can fire up to three volleys per round thanks to an auto-loading system.
Payload: 54 Light Torpedoes.
3. USCS Combat Troops: The mini-sub can carry two squads of UnderSea Combat Specialists (Oscars) and their power armor. These specialists can exit and enter the mini-sub through the forward hatch and support the mini-sub in combat.
4. Notes: Carries all standard submarine systems. Due to the propulsion system, the mini-sub has an 80% Prowl underwater. Success makes it -35% on Read Sensory Equipment checks against it.
