The next story from 1970 is "The Testing!" and really starts to build Vampi's character. She must face the forces of Chaos and show her true character. With the help of the serium from issue 8, Vampi finds that she is able to use her vampiric ways. (You know, change into a bat, seduce men, kick ass). It's here that we first learn that Vampi isn't just a helpless little girl, no this is Vampirella, the first true Femme Fatale in comics! Vampi shows that when the living dead get rough, she can get a little bad-ass.

It's with her head held high and her outfit skimpy, that Vampirella moves on to the year 1971. The birth of a cult icon has begun! No matter how close behind Van Helsing is, Vampirella is well on her way to going into history. Like Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) would say, "See my resolve face?". You go girl!

BTW: Did you ever wonder when the first reference to Lilith was? In other words, when did we first find out Lilith was Vampi's Mama?
Answer: 1970...Yep, that's right. Don't believe me? Well click here and read it for yourself.
