Smaug - Smaug is the most prominent Dragon in Tolkiens' writings, though not the only one. And since it has been many years since I have read my Tolkien tomes, I will refrain from adding any information here for the time being. At least until I have unearthed my volumes and re-read them.
Having had plenty of time on my hands lately, I have checked in my dog-earred old paperback copy of "The Hobbit". Smaug is a Red-Gold, flying, fire-breathing, treasurer-hording Dragon.
