- Caernigan - large city at the mouth of the Asarwe river. It is the hub of trading activity in these lands. It is said that in Caernigan, everything has a price, including human life. Caernigan is also the home to the Bard's Guild, an adventurer's gathering place. More information can be found here.
- Ellewyr - ruled by Queen Shaunil, this small but civilized kingdom sits between Caernigan and the Lower Valley, nestled up against the northern Serpentcoil mountains. The largest town in the kingdom lies below Bassenwaith Castle
- Fallen Lands - once a mighty kingdom that ruled over vast tracts of land, an unknown cataclysm destroyed its prosperity and plunged the region into turmoil for many years. The lands are now home to orcs and barbarians, and there are even rumors of a lich king further south. Small sections of coastline are beginning to attract humans with dreams of reclaiming the lands, chief among these the town of Thelox.
- Karlon Keep - a mighty city-state that guards the one place where the swift Northbryne river can be forded. Karlon Keep holds back the uncivilized hordes that would sweep the area. It is also a place of despair, ruled by the Jendalar, a tyrannical band of wizards and evil priests.
- Ket - a far-off empire that is at war with Thurion. People from Ket are unknown in the Westing Reach.
- Lurland - also called the Lower Valley. Once a unified kingdom, it disintegrated into a collection of feuding city-states when the kingdom to the south fell and became known as the Fallen Lands. There are constantly skirmishes and political intrigues at play in these lands. Here is a page with more detailed information about Lurland.
- Serpentcoil mountains - a tall range of mountains that separate the elven lands to the west from the human lands. The lands near Ellewyr and Caernigan are inhabited by dwarves, but the peaks to the southwest are controlled by goblinoids, giants, and dragons (hence the name Serpentcoil).
- Shieldkeep - this impressive fortress stands high above the surrounding lands of the Upper Valley. It is home to the good Lord Orvas, a retired adventurer who keeps the lands nearby safe and independant from the cities of Lurland. The Shield, a ranger organization that keeps the Upper Valley free from threats, is based in this keep. More info can be found here.
- Silver Valley - the elven forest on the west side of the Serpentcoil mountains. The Valley is off limit to non-elves, but is said to be only part of a much larger elven homeland. Elves travel through the mountains to the human lands frequently to trade and conduct business farther east. The only known overland road to the Silver Valley passes through Durvik's Pass.
- Thurion - mighty empire further to the east. Thurians are sometimes seen in Caernigan on trading expeditions; they are very cosmopolitan and tend to look down upon the inhabitants of these lands as 'barbarians'. It is said that Thurion is currently at war with another empire, Ket, even further away. Peddeshar and Eldrin are from Thurion.
- Underdark - a network of caverns and tunnels that honeycomb the ground below the surface for miles. Inhabited by the evil dark elves (Drow), deep dwarves, goblinoids, mind flayers and worse!
- Upper Valley - the area that is a collection of small towns and villages in the highlands above Lurland. This mostly peaceful, rustic area has good ties with the elves on the other side of Durvik's Pass and with Ellewyr. It is still independant from the Lower Valley primarily due to the protection of Lord Orvas and The Shield.
- Velvet Woods - the forest that runs along the northern side of the Upper Valley. A town of half-elves lies under it's boughs, and gnomes can often be found in the area.
- Westing Reach - the western arm of an even larger ocean that extends much farther to the east and to the south. The occasional pirate preys upon the large amounts of shipping that ply these waters.
- White Plume Isle - an island in the Westing Reach that contains a sometimes active volcano.
