Mestopholes Dorchester Caspian XII is gigantic for an elf -- a towering 5'8" tall and 140 pounds. He has pale skin, piercing green eyes, and short wavy black hair. Caspian is very muscular (again, by elvish standards) and enjoys fighting with his magical longsword, Shatterspike, and an elven-crafted mighty composite longbow. He often wears dark clothing, preferring charcoal gray and black, and is never without a gray cloak that is rumored to have magical properties. When adventuring, Caspian often dons a magical mithril shirt and uses a large magical shield.

  The Caspian family is an ancient one, consisting primarily of warriors and wizards committed to defending the elven way of life. The Caspians maintain that Caspian I was a dragon that took elven form. This account is probably factual, as Mestopholes Dorchester Caspian XII himself seems to have an unusually powerful affinity for magic, even without the benefit of formal training. The Caspians (confusingly, most male Caspians refer to themselves as "Caspian", rather than by one of their given first names), while brave and honest folk, are firm believers that the end justifies the means, thus placing them in the middle as far as good and evil are concerned.

  Caspians in general -- and Mestopholes Dorchester Caspian XII in particular -- are considered eccentric and arrogant, even by other elves. However, they are a powerful (if loose knit) group, generally respected for their bravery and willingness to (foolhardily, perhaps) take on nearly any dangerous task at hand, especially if great glory for the House of Caspian is to be gained. . . .
