Midnite and Xana's Home

Midnite and Xana's Home

You choose the blue door and walk through. Inside you see two ferilons playing some sort of game. It resembles the human game of Tag very closely.A black and dark blue ferilon is chasing a black and bright green ferilon. The game looks fun, so you walk over and join in. The blue ferilon tags you then looks at you in surprise. He seems to shrug your presence away and steps back. You look at the green ferilon and decide to try chasing her first. You run after her but she turns with a surprising agility and evades you easily. You chase her until you get near the blue ferilon then reach out and tag him. He tries to leap out of range, but fails. You laugh and the two ferilons laugh with you.

"No human's been able to tag me before," the blue one tells you breathlessly. "That was a neat trick. By the way, my name's Midnite. My mate's name is Xana. What's your name?" You tell them your name. You sit down to catch your breath.

"Why are you here?" Xana asks you, laying down in front of you. You reply that you are exploring. The two look a bit more interested.

"Who've you visited so far?" Midnite asks you. You tell him who you've visited so far. Xana notices you still haven't quite recovered your breath. She gets up and walks to the corner of the room. You notice a small spring. She fills up a glass that was sitting next to the spring and brings it back to you. You nod your thanks and drink gratefully. The cup is a simple wooden one and the water inside is cold and clear. You notice an image burned onto the side of the cup. It looks like a crown with a heart nestled inside. You turn the cup and notice it is repeated three times. Midnite notices your scrutiny.

"We got that cup as a gift from Remanth. The crown and heart symbolize love and loyalty. Three is our lucky number, so it was repeated three times," Midnite tells you. You nod and say, "It's very beautiful. I remember you saying that you two are mates. Are you expecting cubs?" Midnite exchanges a longing look with Xana. Xana answers, "We would like to have cubs. We are still settling in, though, and it may be a while before we can have cubs." You nod in sympathy and respond, "Hopefully you'll have cubs soon." The three of you sit talking a bit longer. Then, you realize you've been here a long time. Your legs have gone numb. You stand up carefully and wait for them to wake up again.

"Thank you for letting me stay and play the game," you say. "I'm going to keep exploring. It was nice meeting you." Midnite and Xana say their farewells and you walk out the door to the common room.
