You choose the burgundy door and walk through. Inside, you see a forest bordered by cliffs which are then bordered by a seascape. The forest has all kinds of trees in it from pines to tropical trees. The cliffs seem to be made of granite and have several trails meandering through it. The seascape is the most open place in the room and a small pond fed by a spring make up the sea. The room seems huge and at first you don't see the two ferilons walking through the landscape.
When you notice them, you take a minute to study them. The first one you see is brown and black with orange feathers. She's walking quickly through the forest scene and peering up at the trees. You wonder what she's looking at until you see the red and black ferilon with yellow dragonfly wings hiding in a tree ahead of her. He is laughing silently and is trying to keep still as possible. You stand silently while the brown and black ferilon slowly makes her way to the tree the red one is hiding in. Then, the red one jumps down and yells, "Gotcha!" making the brown one jump. You laugh and the two ferilons turn to regard you.
"Hello, traveler," the brown one says. "My name's Heron and this is my mate Garth. Who are you?" You tell Heron your name and gesture to the trees.
"We were playing hide-and-seek," Garth tells you. He points to the three landscapes.
"We have a lot of variation in the land, so the game never gets boring," he explains. "Also, we can hike here if we get tired of hide-and-seek." You nod and ask if you can join.
"We always welcome new players," Heron says happily. She tags you and runs off to hide, Garth right behind her. You close your eyes, count to ten, and open them. You quickly dismiss the seascape; it's too open to hide in. You head toward the cliffs and climb onto a hiking trail. You walk through quickly, trying to spot Heron or Garth. When you are about to give up, you spot an orange feather. You creep up quietly and tag Heron. She smiles and walks toward the seascape. Now all you have to do is find Garth.
You head into the forest and search on the ground for him. You see a couple patches of red fur, but they aren't him. You finish searching at ground level and turn your attention to the trees. You search each tree, looking carefully for a bit of red. You finally see Garth and he spots you at the same time. He drops out of the tree and yells, "Gotcha!" at the same time you run forward and tag him, yelling the same thing. You both laugh and head toward the seascape.
When you reach it, Heron hands you and Garth a cup of clear water. You find yourself very thirsty and you drink it gladly. When you are finished, you hand the cup back to Heron. She takes it and Garth's and puts it on a shelf behind a rock. Then, she and Garth sit down and start telling you stories. You trade them story for story and enjoy your time laughing and talking with them. At last, you look at your watch and realize how much time has passed. You stand up and say goodbye to the two ferilons.
"Come back and visit us soon," Heron says. Garth adds, "You're welcome anytime. You can go back to the common room through that door there." You wave goodbye and walk through the door anticipating your further adventures.
