BEAST MODE
Points of Articulation: 12
Length: 13 cm
The toy is primarily a reddish brown. The horns are tipped
with silver. There are also tan accents throughout the toy. The eyes and
underbelly are translucent turqoise. There are some reddish orange and
black accents in the upper back. There's also a metal nose ring. Although
this is made of the same kind of cheap plastic-metal composite used in
key-holders, I was personally excited to see a metal part on a Transformer.
Mind you, that's probably the only thing about the toy that remotely excites
me.
Gimmick: Push the lever on the back, and the head
nods up and down.
TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE
Open chest and swing out robot shoulders. The beast head
will fold in automatically. Lift up robot head. Swing forelegs forward
80 degrees.Rotate lower portions of hindlegs 180 degrees and flip out robot
feet. Lift up tail.
ROBOT MODE
Height: 12.5cm (including
horns)
Points of Articulation: 14
The colour scheme from the beast mode is essentially
carried on here, except that the translucent turqoise is more noticeable
as well as more reds and orange see on the under side of the horns and
face. The face is actually quite well done, with the paint decos giving
him that 'mythical warrior' look. Unfortunately, that's probably where
any merit in the robot mode ends. The rest of the body is very mediocre
and the hands... WHAT hands?! Oh wait.. if you look really carefully
at the joint between the reddish-brown hooves and tan arms, you can actually
see a hand moulded on! What a lame-arse excuse for a hand!! It's designed
to make it look like as if the hands are holding the hooves like weapons....
very unconvincingly so. Reminds me of Wheelie's excuse for hands. They
may look like hands, but they sure aren't in my book. Still, I guess it's
better than no hands at all... I guess... Oh, there's also a big
hole under the head too. Yay.
SPARK CRYSTAL LOCATION
A panel on the upper left thigh hides the Spark Crystal.
OVERALL
The only Beast Machines toy worst than this one would be
Buzzsaw. So if you've already bought
Buzzsaw, you might's well get Longhorn.
