BEAST MODE

Points of Articulation: 11
Buzzsaw is a cybernetic wasp. The organic and mechanical looking elements blend quite well. The toy is primarily yellow and green with dark brown accents throughout. The eyes are transparent red, although it doesn't have the light piping gimmick that most other Beast Machines figures have. The wings are translucent amber with a green tinge towards the edge. These have a series of veins nicely moulded on. The body is bit too blocky for my liking. Unlike most other insect Transformers, Buzzsaw is able to stand on its legs, rather than flopping down. Behind the body is a spring attached to a transparent orange body with a green "stinger" protruding from the back end. This is the "stinging" gimmick of the toy. It works by pulling the body up and letting it go. Sounds stupid? Well, it is. It's also an awful eyesore too.

TRANSFORMATION TO ROBOT MODE

Pull the rear portion to the side. Fold along the dark brown hinge, then fold down the spring. Open the transparent orange section and pull out the green stinger. Believe it or not, this forms one of the robot arms. Then grab the front two legs and drag that along to the other side, forming the other equally horrid robot arm. Swing the wing section forward and rotate each wing 180 degrees, forming robot legs. Bring insect head down. Uhh.. that's about it. As with all the Beast Machines instructions I've seen so far, Buzzsaw's instructions illustrations are absolutely atrocious.

ROBOT MODE

Height: Just under 11cm (not including antennae)
Points of Articulation: 14
"What a piece of crap!" was the general thought that passed through my mind as I gazed upon this forsaken toy in my hand. The arms look utterly foul. Making the wings into legs was an original idea though. The head looks crap. It's totally green with four red eyes and silver mandibles with two big antennae protruding from the top. Obviously they tried to copy the Beast Wars Neo toys by attempting to make the robot head resemble the beast theme. It worked reasonably well on Cheetor but not here.
