Howdy, Just a quick note to say,having been raised on Mt.Hood(Govenment Camp) and gradutating from high school in Estacada ,that I have always been interested in the possible existence of Sasquatch. It was back in July,1980 (year of my High School gradutation)around 3:AM ,near Squaw Mt., I sleeping in a log cabin that belonged to a friend of mine , he was back at his house.I was awakened out of a completely sound (and sober) sleep,lying in to al pitch darkness, that I became aware of the complete absence of sound around the cabin.I do not know what woke me up but i was wide awake instantly. As I was trying to go back to sleep, I heard a very loud single footsteep down hill from the cabin , in the direction of the creek (crick)[,but ,I can not remeber the name of the stream ,but it was not Bedford creek ].This was followed about two second later by another and another , slow walking around the cabin.It sounded like what ever it was, was avoiding the cabin , by walking in a half circle around it.I know this sounds like a story or a dream but, let me asure you I WAS wide awake and all the ha r on my neck was at full attention. I told my friend and a few others about this but they just laughed it off.And ,I honestly doubt that it was my friend playing jokes on me ,for I was armed.I did absolutely nothing ,I guess from fear ,just listening to t e steps as they grew quieter and quieter going away ,downhill towards the water. If this had happened to me now, I might have gotten up to investigate (I know my wife would have stayed inside ! )I have seen , heard , and hunted various animals in my 18 years of living in Oregon but I had never heard anything like it before or since. I was browsing alta vista, and it led me to this link to your site. If you were to ask me what it was ,I do not know but, I firmly believe it was not a deer ,a bear, a badger or a domestic animal (these were very heavy ,thick woods ). Nor do I believe it was a jokster or a trick of the night . These were del berate , solid steps like a full grown man jumping on one leg, ( in complete darkness ) I am sure you know what night time is like deep in the fir forests back home,... Anyway, I just wanted to share this (Finally !) with someone involved in this subject. Take care and ,take a nice long walk at night,for me ,and listen very carefully .... Kevin S. Edwards

Nice little page. Can't believe the counter is at 0. Would like to stop by sometime. Thom Powell showed Trapper Steve and myself a couple of footprint casts you had made. One that we cast in February has a similar foot ball. Unfortunately the toes didn't come out on ours, it was freezing and the plaster barely set. Site was near Ripplebrook Ranger Station SE of Estacada. Also, Thom showed us a photo of a thirty year pin map of sightings. Very interesting. Is that available commercially or for a trade. Have spent over 30 days SE of Estacada this year and at least 5 nights. Some interesting stuff to us, but to veterans like you, probably not too interesting.
