OK, it is spelled Mijas... and I'm too lazy to change the graphics. Mijas is one of the "white" villages. Named because all the buildings are painted white. Mijas is basically a shopping center with really unique shops and a great view.
We set out Sunday morning for Mijas because quite a bit of "Spain" is closed in Sunday. Because Mijas is more of a tourist shopping area it was open. As with all of our treks, we probably didn't go directly there, but we did eventually trip over it. This is NOT Mijas, but it shows the cloudy weather we had on the drive and it isn't a bad picture of the buildings in that area. |

The view was also really nice from there. The rain made the trees and grass very green |
Parking in Spain isn't as bad as London, but it wasn't as easy as Cumberland Mall either! We ended up parking on the edge of town. There was a really nice park with a great view of Mijas (it allowed me to take the panagraphic above). | ![]() |

This gives new meaning to "free range chicken"... It was grazing in the park with three of it's (very skiddish) chicks. |
Mejas is built into the side of the mountain. It has very narrow roads that get quite interesting to drive. Some of the roads are one way and others are "one at a time". I usually figured out that it wasn't my turn when I got into the turns. You will be happy to know that we did return the rental car in excellent condition. The city was even decorated for Christmas. |

We ate lunch in a little restaurant hidden on one of the side streets. It had a good view of the hills. As you can see, the weather cleared up right away. After we parked the car the sun came out and it was blue skys for most of the afternoon. I think there was one cloud that tried to spit at us for a little that afternoon. Sunday night we went to the Casino for some R&R |
