Lands of IantheIanthe is my '100% organically grown' game setting. Five years of fantasy role-playing went into the nations, cities, towns, and people of Ianthe. The end result is a living, breathing place with an ever-changing history. There is also quite a lot of borrowing. Game supplements are purchased to be used. I'm certain that elements from the Forgotten Realms, Legend of the Five Rings, and the Kingdoms of Kalamar are used in the following pages. No game stats are published here and no challenge to anyone's copyright is intended. There is, in fact, a bibliography so that, if you absolutely know more about the goddess Selune or demon-elves, you can find the appropriate source material.
PlacesIanthe began with the humble Kingdom of Logres. This small land is ruled by a just king, Timothy, and is notable only because the Academy of the Mystic Arts is located in the north of the country. No information of Logres is currently on the Web.The Rabid Wombat Tavern, situated in the unremarkable town of Midway, came next. It is, in many ways, a Standard Fantasy Tavern, with a remarkable selection of alcohol and a retired mercenary working the bar. Ehosia was developed during an online game based out of the Rabid Wombat. This desert theocracy consists of a series of cities linked by magical ley gates. The ley gates have a dark secret, however. The result is a holy war against all elves and a schism in the Ehosian faith. The Nargoth Empire lies south of Logres, across a narrow sea. It is much smaller today than it was a few generations ago. While the elven Kangrel Woods were subjugated, their compatriots in the Legasha Forest resisted imperial forces. The southeastern provice also broke away to become the Uralan Republic. Today, Empire, Republic, and elves live peacefully under a truce, despite the best efforts of some to sabotage it. Far to the south of the Nargoth Empire lies a tangled jungle, named Noxatl after the goddess who embodies it. Its primary inhabitants are tribes of warrior gnomes who worship Noxatl, bold Nogato, and inventive Chigalte - often with gnomish sacrifices! Across the western ocean from all these lands are others. The town of Two Forks lies there. The Temple Silver online game is set in those far-off lands. Aside from The Temple Silver Home Page, no information on Two Forks and its environs is on the Web.
AnnwnAnnwn is a barely-begun project. The intent is to create an Otherworld for Ianthe. While Ianthe is populated by peoples inspired by historical cultures, Annwn will be populated by peoples inspired by historical mythologies. A mythic Irish/Welsh region, complete with great heroes and fearsome Sidhe, is underway.History in BriefTimelineDetailed Interim Campaign Timeline
