The purpose of this site is three-fold; The first is to create an environment where current Shannara readers and fans can read, express, and share their love of the Shannara books and the wonderful characters created by Brooks...thus the title of the site, "Friends of Shannara"; Also, To create a visible presence in the public medium (in this case, the internet) to inform the public of these wonderful literary gems, thereby keeping interest in the novels strong (and therefore more novels) and; lastly, to foster an appreciation from all fans to show Brooks and the publishers the vast interest and passion that is held for these works.

The main Links page section entitled "Links to other Shannara/Terry Brooks sites" contains
links to websites which were found by or submitted to FOS and contain the best in presentation, layout, content, and webdesign. Other Terry Brooks-related fansites created by dedicated fans of Shannara and Terry Brooks are on a page linked below that section, and are respectfully linked on that page. Any further queries about why which sites are linked where they are on the page can be emailed to the address at the bottom of this page. Visitors are encouraged to visit all the websites linked, as there are many different things offered by each site.
All other sites linked are relevant Shannara and Terry Brooks-related sites of varying degree, and some are corporate/business in nature. All serious link submissions are welcomed through email, ICQ, or the guestbook.
