House Rules

Concerning Elder Vampires:

This isn't a house rule so much as it is a clarification. Simply because you have the ability to play 8th Generation does not, I repeat DOES NOT mean that you will be an elder if you do so.
Much more than simply 8th Generation goes into being an elder vampire. Allow me to elaborate:

Now, I know that some of you might still not get it. It may be a little confusing at first. Please allow me now to explain to you why your characters are not elders:

  • While we are allowing 8th Generation characters, we are only allowing a few. First come, first serve. We aren't going to tell you how many of you are allowed to be 8th Generation, either.

  • As we said before, your character may have been a vampire for any length of time, but has only been active for 50 years, plus 5 years per Generation below 12th. If you can do any math at all, you'll come to an absolute maximum of 75 active years. That's 75 active years for 8th, 70 active years for 9th, 65 active years for 10th, 60 active years for 11th, and 55 active years for 12th and 50 active years for 13th. A far cry from the bare minimum elder requirement of 250 active years. Please notice the repetition of the word active.

  • Finally, and again, most importantly, YOUR CHARACTERS WERE NOT CREATED UNDER ELDER STATS!!! Your characters were created under NEONATE stats (7/5/3-5-5-3-7), and are therefore NEONATES!

I realize where most of this misunderstanding has come from. Please bear in mind that the benefits of the 8th Generation have lost a lot of glamour since the conversion from 2nd Edition to Revised.

One of the fringe benefits of being an ST is that you have the privelage of shaping the World of Darkness to suit your style. Allow me to explain to you what minor alterations I have made to the WoD. Most are simple.

The Tzimisce Discipline of Vicissitude is a disease, though no one, not even Tzimisce, are likely to know this.

The Malkavian Antitribu Discipline of Dementation is a mental disorder. It bestows Derangements on it's practitioners as the knowledge of it literally shreds it's user's mind to ribbons. Malkavians are likely to know this, but not care.

All alterations to the larger metaplot (the story that White Wolf says is happening) will be revealed through the rumor sheets.

Most other changes I and my assistant Storytellers have made are just as minor, and may or may not come into play during the course of this game. If they do, and it causes trouble, we will try to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
