Vampires without Hats

Ophelia Selby (Toreador Primogen and childe of the Prince) and Dr. Henry Tuttle (Primogen of the Unaligned) hosted a small get-together for the Kindred of Carbondale. The Prince, Max Pride, was not in attendance. Several new arrivals made their presence known at this time, and a good time was had by all.

January 29

The Kindred of the city got together at the SIUC Student Center. The Prince was in attendance, and was introduced to the masses by Ophelia Selby. The Prince and Jack (Malkavian Primogen) adjourned to a side table for a game of chess. During a brief excursion to Carboz, Mia, Sapphire, Skyler, (Toreador neonates) and Emmy (Ventrue neonate) attempted to coerce a young mortal man to accompany them elsewhere. Skyler eventually stopped trying, but the girls were insistent. Finally, when they got to the parking lot, they discovered that their potential prey was a hunter, who shot Mia with a crossbow and Sapphire with a gun. He then made his escape in a large black van bearing the logo of the Punisher. After most of the "mess" was cleaned up by Dr. Tuttle, the girls were returned to the Student Center. The Prince began to hear their side of the story not too long afterwards.
Meanwhile, Ophelia was attacked by Griffon (Toreador neonate who has officially joined the Unaligned), but she was able to call Chase (Tzimisce Sheriff, also her "brother") and Jack to her aid. Before they were able to rescue her, Griffon was able to blow up the trunk of his car (containing Ophelia), and she was badly damaged by the explosion. After the evidence had been presented in the case, the Prince called an emergency Primogen meeting to pass judgement on the three girls involved in the situation at Carboz. The Primogen deliberated briefly without the Prince, and passed sentencing on the three offenders. All three received the Negative Status Trait of "Negligent", and are to be under their respective Primogen member's direct supervision until the Primogen as a whole agrees that they are sufficiently educated to prevent another such incident. In addition, the two members of Clan Toreador (Mia and Sapphire) are to have their vocal cords and hands removed by Dr. Tuttle, so that they will not be able to perform their art for several weeks time. After the judgements were pronounced, Mia made an unsuccessful attempt to escape.
The chess game was a draw...
